Dialogue in colour
25.4 - 6.5.2017
Galerie Pleiku, Berlin
Welcome to the opening on Tuesday 25th of April from 7-9 pm
The exhibition consists of paintings of two artists; Taira Tiger and Rose-Mari Torpo. The works presented are conceived through experimentation with different techniques and materials creating a dialogue based on colour. The essence of colour is the shared interest of the two artists. Tiger exhibits ink works on paper and Torpo presents works made with ink, acrylic and spray paint on canvas and on plastic net.
Since it is challenging to submit colour to a logical or verbal analysis, it is difficult to discuss or write about it. The colour affects our subconscious mind, memory and collective history in a unique and irreplaceable way. It touches the non-cognitive, deeply sensorial and irrational level of ourselves.
Colour is a psychological and physical experience of the observer. The viewer with her presence and perception makes the significance of the artwork.
