AKASAKA - UNSEEN CITY

A three-day visual arts workshop at the School of European Education
During the festival Unseen City organized by the Architects’ union.
 18-19-20 October 2012

Eirini Linardaki / Stella Malliaraki / Vincent Parisot / Michela Pelusio / Rose-Mari Torpo

The main goal of the project is to connect and integrate the school to the surrounding urban environment. Besides that, we aim to enhance collaboration and team working within the school community. Through the suggested actions we will try to raise social awareness among the pupils and make them think how they could improve their community and surroundings of the school. Moreover we want the children to get to know and be an active part of the neighbourhood. On the third day of the workshop we will promote the presence of the school in the neighborhood by involving the neighbors, audience and the passersby in the project.

The children will have the opportunity to work with various materials and to experiment with the techniques of drawing, painting and shadow theatre. Through art expression the children will work with their senses and with the perception of themselves. The adults will be inspired by the work of the children continuing it with their creations.

Artistic interventions outside the school from children of the school, passersby, neighbours, members of the local community.
